The Town of Matthews has promoted Corey King to the position of Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resource Director. Corey has worked in the Department for 13 years and for the last six months has served as interim director.
In his new role Corey will oversee all of the Town’s parks, the Crews Recreation Center, the Community Center and the McDowell Arts Center. He will also be responsible for the Town’s Special Events and the Four Mile Creek Greenway. He has a staff of six full-time employees and 20 part-time employees.
“After an extensive process Corey was selected as our new director. We are excited to have an employee who cares greatly for the recreation needs of our citizens. In his 13 years with the Town Corey has consistently provided high quality customer service and expertise in the department,” said Hazen Blodgett, Town Manager of Matthews.
