The Humane Society of Charlotte is hosting its annual Pet Palooza fundraiser this weekend.

Event-goers can enjoy musical entertainment & a fido fashion show, while dining from local food trucks. A 2k Walk and vendor fair are also part of the day's activities.

All  proceeds go toward helping our community's homeless and at-need pets with services such as low-cost spay/neuter, adoptions, and low-cost vaccine and microchip clinics.

Pet lovers can join the fun at Independence Park, located at 300 Hawthorne Lane in Charlotte, Saturday April 13, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Admission is free and open to the public. The fee for participating in the 2k Walk is $35.

This is Paul - he's a very energetic brindle Dachshund puppy.

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - Seven rescues will be participating, including: Kitty City, Friends for Life, Tails of Hope, Humane Society of Concord, HS Cabarrus Animal Rescue, Kreitzer's Critter Corral and Rally to Rescue. SwiftDogz will be donating a $50 gift certificate for their services. Nestle Purina is donating Frisbees, bracelets, Purina accessories and several other items including a go cart valued at $300 to be raffled. Lowe's Foods is providing tents, tables, hot dogs, drinks, chip, and other items for the event. Also, Lowe's Foods is having a huge sale on Purina items, cat food, dog food, cat litter and cat/dog treats. A free bag of Purina food will be donated by Purina to every cat/dog that gets adopted!!
