Dates Announced for 5th Annual 3-Day Music Festival

MUSIC ON THE MOUNTAINTOP ANNOUNCES DATES FOR 5TH ANNUAL 3-DAY MUSIC FESTIVAL IN BOONE, NORTH CAROLINA AUGUST 24-26, 2012

Partnership with Railroad Earth To Bring Added Creative To Festival

Tickets On Sale Friday, April 5, 2012 at 10 a.m. EST

Music On the Mountaintop, the annual music festival outside Boone, North Carolina has announced that the eclectic festival will return this August 24-26, 2012 as Railroad Earth's Music on the Mountaintop. Celebrating its fifth year, Music on the Mountaintop is expanding to include three full days of music, including two nights of Railroad Earth and other special events on Sunday with the band. Having played the previous two Music on the Mountaintop festivals the Americana-based band will be taking on a bigger role, helping to curate the lineup for 2012. More artists and festival details will be announced in the coming weeks. 

Arden McLaughlin recommends popular reads for the library's upcoming Book Sale

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - Arden McLaughlin, from the Charlotte Mecklenburg Library, talks about what kinds of books do well at book sales.  Her suggestions include anything Nicolas Sparks, young adult titles and children's literature. 

The book sale kicks off on Thursday, April 26th and runs through Saturday, May 5th.  Venue is CBRE SouthPark Towers, located at 6100 Fairview Road, Suite 100, in Charlotte.

The Mint Museum announces innovative slate of upcoming exhibitions

 

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - The Mint Museum announced a slate of 10 upcoming exhibitions for 2012, beginning with Surrealism and Beyond, which opens to the public on February 11. With former U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright in attendance, the museum also announced that an exhibition of her jewelry entitled Read My Pins: The Madeleine Albright Collection will open June 30 and be on view during the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte. And complementing trends that are reverberating throughout popular culture, museum officials detailed plans for the exhibition Fairytales, Fantasy, & Fear, which is scheduled to open March 3.
